Lion details of enterprise and educational distribution

Apple has finally given a detailed lion upgrade process for business and education. Apple has handled the question of how the MAC OS X Lion’s download-only version would translate into large scale licenses for business and education. On Friday, Apple discussed the strategy. Apple will give business users bulk licenses the same $30 price with at least 20 users. Schools on the other hand will have to pay for a $39 Apple Software Collection bundle in batches of 25, but they will get both iLife and iWork in the package. These licenses will really come in handy for universities and degrees offering business administration degree programs. There was a suspicion that Lion Server is an upgrade option and Apple has confirmed this. Corporate buyers will have an optional $50 per person maintenance contract to get extra support. All of this can be bought through the Mac App Store.

Apple has come to help certain industries in the search for a better way to get the Mac OS X Lion. Apple has given these industries different ways to help them in their search for bundled packages. Schools and businesses don’t mind paying a little extra as long as they know their getting more. The volume licensing will work he same as it did with the disc-based versions, just with a download-only file, Apple said. Only one redemption code will be handed out to business and educational customers. On the other hand, they will get a Lion installer file they can then copy to other systems. Anyone who bought a Mac on or after June 6 WWDC keynote, including individuals, qualifies for a Lion Up-to-Date program. The buyer has to claim the upgrade within 30 days of buying their Mac.

Sandy Bridge Processors for new MacBook Airs

Intel has a family of processors that are called Sandy Bridge processors. Intel is getting bigger as they produce a new ultra low voltage (ULV) that is a perfect fit for the MacBook Air. CPU World has let a leak of processors as they show a trio of Core i5 and i7 CPU models. These chips are suppose to be faster then the chips currently offered by Intel. These chips would run between 1.4 Ghz and 1.6 Ghz. CPU World says that the new Core i5 2557M will run at 1.7Ghz with the ability to Turbo Boost to 2.7Ghz while the Core i7 2637M and 2677M will run at 1.7Ghz and 1.8Ghz with the ability to run at up to 2.8Ghz and 2.9Ghz.

These three new processors will be dual core Hyperthreaded processors. They will include graphic cards that range from 350 MHz to 1.2 Ghz. The reason why these processors are so good for the MacBook Air is the compact fit. These chips will use 17 watts of power between the graphics and the processor which will make them easy to tuck inside the MacBook Air. The date on when these chips will be available is uncertain. They are said to come out later this year, but the actual month and day are not set. Rumors have said that the MacBook Air will get a refresh this summer, which Apple usually does to their line of computers. I can’t wait to see how fast the MacBook Air will be with the Sandy Bridge processors. Can’t wait either? Leave us a comment and we will answer them as soon as we can.

Apple is a Religion

Is Apple really a religion? Well it certainly is followed by millions of people in this world. Almost every person in this world knows about Apple and Steve Jobs. I certainly understand how Apple can be a religion because people go crazy when a new product or an Apple store is opened. According to neuroscientists, Apple could possibly be a religion. They compared MRIs of Apple fans’ brains to those of people who would call themselves rather religious. They found that Apple and religion light up the same part of the brain. Call me crazy, but isn’t that just spectacular? Apple being a religion would definitely draw criticism, but everyone has a way to express themselves. This also means that Apple triggers the same feelings and reaction in people as religion. In a documentary on BBC, Secrets of Superbands, the documentary also likens Apple stores to cathedrals. Renee Oricchio said that “Apple stores often feature stone or other types of austere, simple flooring like a church with products mounted on pedestals like individual altars.” When Apple launches a new store, the whole place goes crazy. The workers are high fiving the hundred of new customers. It is definitely a crazy idea, but it is also an idea that can come true. It seems Steve Jobs really is a God to some people in this world.

Mac OS X Lion 10.7 Distributed in Mac App Store

Apple is finally releasing the OS X Lion in the summer, but how is it being distributed? Sources are saying that it will be distributed through the Mac App Store which is currently on the Mac OS X Snow Leopard too. This new operating system comes with many new features such as full disk encryption, AirDrop, a new interface, an iOS —style application launcher, mission control, and certain looks on the home screen. I created an article about the OS X Lion beta version which you can find through the search bar. Just type in OS X Lion and the article is there. It provides a more in depth review of the OS X Lion. The new Mac App Store is like the App Store on an iPhone or iPod touch. It’s basically an easier way to find apps on your Mac instead of going to an Apple store to find it.

I like that Apple is selling the OS X Lion 10.7 on the Mac App Store. It makes it a lot easier for the customers to download it instead of driving to a store to buy it. It may be just another attempt to promote the Mac App Store, but it’s in a great way. It saves Apple money because they don’t have to pay for the disks, gas money to get the OS to the stores, and it makes the customers life easier as well. The customer wouldn’t have to keep track of another disk, as if they don’t have a million of those already. This won’t mean that they won’t sell the OS X Lion 10.7 in stores, it just means that if you don’t want the hassle of another disk, just download it straight to your Mac. Apple is just trying to make your lives easier by letting you download it off their Mac App Store. In other words, no more waiting in those dreaded lines. I can finally celebrate at home when my download finishes and I have the OS X Lion on my computer without the frustration of humans.

iPhone 5 Specs

Is the new real iPhone 5, or is it just another prototype? Many sources are confirming that the new iPhone 5 will be a completely new re-design unlike the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS. Sources are saying that the new iPhone 5 will not be anything like the iPhone 4 and is going away from the square shape. Instead, the iPhone 5 is said to look like the 2010 MacBook Air’s design. It is said to look like a “teardrop” going from thicker to thinner from the top to bottom. This is jus a prototype because Apple will surely test many different products before the iPhone 5 hits the market. The design looks like the fourth-generation iPod tough. It is very thin and the display is bigger going from 3.5 inches to 3.7 inches, the pixels are staying the same though.

The new home button is like a stretched out circle. On the prototype, it may be a gesture-based home button. That has to be just a little bit cool. Apple is also trying to see if they can hide the earpiece and the sensors behind the screen. That will make the iPhone 5 a little cleaner and a little more like the fourth-generation iPod touch. Keep in mind that this information is exactly true. There will continue to be a lot of new iPhone prototypes. This iPhone 5 is what could be the new iPhone 5, but we will not know until Apple itself introduces the iPhone 5. There will be many new sources that come with different designs and dimensions of the iPhone 5. Stay tuned for more information and we will continue to deliver the news. What do you think of the new iPhone 5? Drop a comment below and let us know.
